I have been in an accident - Can I make a claim for compensation?

If you have been hurt in an accident that wasn’t your fault you may be able to make a claim for compensation. Call Simpkins and Co Solicitors on 01425 275555 to receive a FREE initial consultation with one of our specialist solicitors.

What is the time limit for making a claim?

The time limit for initiating a claim is usually three years. However, there are a number of exceptions to this, including children under 18 and claimants suffering from mental disability.

In some cases where you have been injured, symptoms can take a long time to develop. In such cases, the time limit runs from when the symptoms first appeared and were linked to the party in question.

If you are uncertain about whether you are still eligible to make a claim within the three year time limit, call Simpkins and Co Solicitors on 01425 275555 to receive a FREE initial consultation with one of our specialist solicitors.

How long will a claim take?

Many different factors affect how long a claim will take. This means it is not always possible for us to give you an exact time. A lot depends on your type of injury and the different circumstances surrounding your case. Every case is different. Once we have all the details we need we should be able to give you a rough idea of how long it will take to settle your claim.

Will it cost me any money to make a claim?

We will talk through with you the most suitable way for you to fund your claim. You may already have some legal expenses insurance (usually as part of your household/car insurance), or other help to cover legal charges. If you do not have any other suitable method available, we may be able to use a no win no fee claim agreement to help fund your case.

What is a 'no win no fee' agreement?

No Win No Fee arrangements or Conditional Fee Arrangements; CFAs as they are sometimes called ensure that if you do not win your accident claim then you do not have to pay your solicitor a fee. Insurance will cover you against the other side's costs and expenses. If you win your no win no fee claim, you should receive your compensation free of any deductions. The other side should pay your solicitor’s costs. There are very few exceptions to this.

It is quite simple if you don’t win then you don't pay.

You will always receive 100% of your compensation at Simpkins and Co Solicitors.

How much compensation will I get?

Once we have talked through all the details with you and have all the facts we will be able to give you a rough idea.
